My name is Linda Knutson and I began this company because I have a passion for making jewelry and I thought I would share this joy with everyone.
The pasttime of beadwork started because my brother and his wife decided that they wanted to do a craft together and they shared beadwork with me on one Christmas. Before I knew it 2 hours had gone by and I had a lovely piece. I said to my brother, "Can you leave the stuff here?", to which he replied "NO, but I'll take you to a bead shop". And from there I was buying beads and all the supplies to go with it and I was off and running. Then as years went by I figured as much as I am doing this I really need to do this as a business, so here we are.
Many people have asked where the name Raincharmer came from and here is how that happened. I adopted a cat from the humane society and I adopted him because he had lots of personality. When I was filling out the paperwork, the volunteer explained that his name was Raincharmer and he was called that because he was found in a storm drain right after a monsoon storm (rain) and he has a charming personality (charmer). Now he likes to "help" when I am working on beads and although he likes to bat the pieces around on the workstation for me, he sometimes knocks pieces together that really work together. I know he is just attracted to shape and size but he helps inspire creativity more than anything.
They may not be able to speak our language but they are very much like kids. In fact we call them our children, and each one has a personality of their own.
The picture above is of Raincharmer - he tired himself out with all that supervising he does of our beadwork!
The photo above is of Ms. Chole - she rarely sits still for a photo so its pretty amazing that we were able to get this shot.
The photo above is Missy - my smallest kitty - and my most scaredy cat. She is barely bigger than the box she is sitting on.
The photo above and below are not of the same cat although it looks like it. The one above is Squeakers and we call him that because he does not meow - he squeaks. The one below is Bugaboo - he is my lap kitty. If I am sitting down he figures the lap is open for him.
