1 Year Anniversary

Posted on June 16, 2011 at 2:39 AM Comments comments (1)

Hard to believe but it has been an entire year at 43rd Ave and Thunderbird.  So many things have changed in the year.  I am done with my other job and started a new one.  The store has grow, inventory has grown and most of all we have grown the number of bead addicts!  It has been a fanastic ride so far!  We sincerely appreciate everyone that has helped us to reach this moment of celebration!! Thank you!

Haven't been here in awhile.....

I haven't been here in a while.... sorry about that!  We are happy to see that people are still checking out the website!  We are offering for a short time free :lol:instruction on all of our needle and thread classes with the purchase of materials at our store - so take advantage while this lasts!  You can still sign up for classes through the contact us section on the Class page.

If you have seen the homepage you will also note that we are having a huge event at the marketplace this coming weekend.   We would love for all of our fans to come pay us a visit!

We have been tossing around the idea of opening this store during the week too - so keep your eyes open for our announcement email.  As soon we have all of the details straightened out we will open the doors (first of course we must put additional one in first).

Also want to let everyone know that we have been very busy adding new merchandise to the walls.  We of course attended the Tucson show in January and we found lots of treasures that we were happy to add to the wall - so come check them out before they are all gone!

We will be closed from May 31st to June 7th and we will resume normal hours starting on June 8th.  We'll seeing you guys that weekend but we hope you come to see us the following weekend. :D

Holidays

Many of us having been rushing through this holiday because of the economic situation with our country right now.  I want to take a moment and express my gratitude for the things I received this year:  laughs with friends, hugs and kisses from niece and nephew, watching my niece walk for the first time, watching my nephew dance his first dance routine in class, my mother for putting up with all my craziness, my crew dealing with all the nuttiness of the store, my roommate dealing with all my last minute requests, my brother for putting up with my silly questions about computers, the many friends I have gained through my business, the creativity that has come from collobrations and finally all the things I have learned doing this business.  It has been a roller coaster ride this year but I wouldn't change a thing.  Thank you all for putting up with me.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Thank you!

Many of you have taken the time to stop by and see us at our new home and I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU!  We are glad that you have decided to keep on visiting with us and allowing us to help you continue with you quest for more beads!

We have received a wonderful response from many of you about the new store and we appreciate it.  But we have to let you in on a secret - we are not nearly as organized as we may appear.  We are still sorting through boxes from the move and we appreciate that you are bearing with us during the transition.

New location

Well we have begun to settle in a little bit at our new location.  It has been interesting moving - I certainly could do without all the packing and unpacking.  I am glad that it is finally done.  We still have a few things to get done but we are pretty much there. There are some interesting things going on in this new location.  What I am really excited about is we will be doing trick or treating for the kids on Halloween day.  Each booth will have it set up with candy so kids can get the feel of trick or treating without so many safety issues. I, of course, will be dressed up as my witchy self (question is do I really need a costume for that??)  I hope to see all of you there!

Moving!!!

I regret to say we have ended our run at the Indoor Swapmart located at 5115 N. 27th Avenue.  We are not closing - just moving!  Our new location will be at 8606 W. Ludlow Avenue.  This is located at the 101 and Thunderbird, off of Rio Vista Drive.  I'll post the directions for you guys so you can come see us at our new home.  We would love for everyone to stop by!

Busy week

I don't know about you guys but it was hectic last week for me.  I tried to come back to working on this webpage but this is the first time I had a chance.  I am still working on adding more pictures to this page and that has proven to be a challenge.

I will be adding more pages as we go along and I am taking a suggestions right now about what type of pages they should be.  I am thinking a help page might be very helpful to those of you who are new to the craft - what do you think??

Bead Tip of the Day

Jumprings

Ever had a jumpring that keeps coming off a piece of your jewelry??  I certainly have and its annoying!!  Found that the trick to making sure they are securely in place is how you open them in the first place.  If you pull the jumpring open going either to the left or right, you will have a difficult time getting them back together evenly.  Holding the jumpring with a pair of chainnose pliers and using only your thumb, push one side of the ring forward.  This will open the ring for you and when you are ready to close, hold the ring again with chainnose pliers and pull the open side of ring back.  This will line up the sides of the ring for you.  If you are putting the jumpring on to a woven piece of jewelry and it still seems to find the thread, then very carefully put a small dot of superglue on the ring's closure.
