About Me

I enjoy technology, music, the outdoors and travel. As a bit of a techie I am always looking for good computer tips and things that simplify technology. Regularly looking for new gadgets like a tablet or netbook computer. Still amazed at how technology has changed both music and photography so dramatically in such a short amount of time. Looking forward learning and contributing while I'm here.

Bead Tip of the Day

Jumprings

Ever had a jumpring that keeps coming off a piece of your jewelry??  I certainly have and its annoying!!  Found that the trick to making sure they are securely in place is how you open them in the first place.  If you pull the jumpring open going either to the left or right, you will have a difficult time getting them back together evenly.  Holding the jumpring with a pair of chainnose pliers and using only your thumb, push one side of the ring forward.  This will open the ring for you and when you are ready to close, hold the ring again with chainnose pliers and pull the open side of ring back.  This will line up the sides of the ring for you.  If you are putting the jumpring on to a woven piece of jewelry and it still seems to find the thread, then very carefully put a small dot of superglue on the ring's closure.
